California Rep. Maxine Waters called on the Senate to remove President Trump from office before he agrees to let Russian President Vladimir Putin into the White House.
Waters, 81, urged the Senate to follow through with the impeachment and removal of Trump because she thinks he has already proven to be “Putin’s puppet.” She warned that Trump will continue to push Russian propaganda if he is not stripped of his power by the Senate.
“Revelation by former [White House] officials proves what we’ve known all along: Trump is [Putin’s Puppet]. Trump repeated Putin’s talking point that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in the ‘16 election. Mark my words. If the Senate doesn’t remove him, Trump will invite Putin to the [White House] next [year],” the congresswoman tweeted.

Waters’ point about former White House officials confirming that Trump believed Ukraine was responsible for the 2016 election meddling came in the wake of a Washington Post report that included interviews from unnamed White House sources about Trump’s faith in Putin.
One official said, “[Trump] would say: ‘This is ridiculous. Everyone knows I won the election. The greatest election in the world. The Russians didn’t do anything. The Ukrainians tried to do something.’”
Waters may be excited about the thought of the Senate removing Trump, but for now, Speaker Nancy Pelosi still has the ball in her court. She has refused to turn the articles of impeachment over to the Senate until she agrees to their rules for the trial. Pelosi has already vowed to keep the articles into the new year.
